Loose Valley Care Home residents create patriotic display for Nellsar Crafty Crown Competition

As part of the coronation celebrations at Loose Valley Care Home, we entered a Nellsar-wide competition to design and make an eye-catching coronation crown.

Heading up the competition, Nellsar’s Recreation and Well-Being Manager Viv Stead commented: “The idea was to involve our residents in making something beautiful and memorable to display in their Home or garden that could be enjoyed by everyone for the coronation.”

We all got together to create some fabulous crowns, with lots of our staff also getting involved to assist. We had all kinds of coloured gems available to make crowns fit for a king and our residents really enjoyed creating them. We then displayed all of the sparkly crowns together in our lounge for the coronation day. Lots of excitement!

Although we weren’t crowned amongst the winners, we had so much fun creating our wonderful display which made a great centrepiece for our coronation celebrations.

The judges commented: ‘A wonderful display created with a red, white and blue balloon arch and lots of wonderful decorated crowns to be worn on the coronation day. Of course Billy the cat was king of the house! Purrrfect!’

Congratulations again to everyone at Loose Valley involved in creating our fantastic entry for the competition.

Check out the winning entries and all the runners up!
