VE Day celebrations with music at Loose Valley Care Home

Miss Holiday Swing entertained us here at Loose Valley Care Home for a VE Day special remembrance afternoon.

We sat outside in the glorious sunshine to listen to a stunning performance of Dame Vera Lynn’s ‘We’ll Meet Again’ along with some other classics, which we all sang along to:

Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree
Pack up your Troubles
Kiss me Goodnight
We’re Going to Hang out the Washing on the Siegfried Line
Apple Blossom Time
You are my Sunshine
Chattanooga Choo Choo

Holly was dressed in a gorgeous red dress, 1940 style; she has a wardrobe full of clothes for her performances as she has just completed a 1940 weekend down at the Tenterden and Sussex Railway. Her hair was up in the victory curls and she had red, white and blue flowers on the side of her hair. Paula and Charlotte from our team joined in, dressing as a sailor and an Army officer for the day.

We adorned our gazebo with bunting in red, white and blue and had Union Jack flags fluttering in our flower pots.

Everyone had a fantastic afternoon of entertainment. Thank you Holly!
