Birthday celebrations and jigsaws at Loose Valley Care Home

We enjoyed double celebrations at the end of January at Loose Valley Care Home, as two of our ladies had their birthdays – Marjorie turned 99 and Jean 89.

They both loved their birthday cakes from our kitchen staff and blowing out their candles. Many happy returns ladies!

Our residents have been enjoying some jigsaws recently. A focused and therapeutic pastime – it’s very rewarding when you find the correct piece and eventually finish the puzzle!

Originally these puzzles were called ‘dissected puzzles‘, then the ‘jigsaw‘ got its name after the tool used to cut out the pieces.

They’ve been a particularly good pastime during this cold and windy weather we’ve had!
