Loose Valley Care Home residents go to the races

With Royal Ascot approaching we thought we’d have fun with some racing games here at Loose Valley Care Home.

We wanted to make a game that was interactive, so we created a race track from a noticeboard covered in green paper, then printed out horses, cutting them out and choosing colours for each of the six horses that related to the colours on our dice.

We put our track on a table so our residents could stay in their comfortable chairs while they played – rolling the dice to advance their horse, to see who could win the race. Our team member Paula made some beautiful fascinators for our ladies to wear, and everybody took it in turns to throw the dice. It was an engaging activity and a fun-filled horse racing game – everyone enjoyed their afternoon at the races.

Of course Billy decided to join us, wearing a fascinator and sitting on the race track…much to the amusement of our ladies and gents!
