We love having fun with our residents and sharing their stories here at Loose Valley Care Home.
During a one-to-one session with one of our ladies recently, she talked about the wigs her and her daughter used to wear to work when she worked in a bag factory.
We have a couple of wigs, so she and Recreation and Well-Being Champion Paula put them on, and with a glass of wine in her hand, she video called her daughter.
Much to her surprise her daughter panned around to her husband to show him and they both cracked up into laughter, as did we on the other end! Our lady said “Cheers!” with her glass of wine!
Her daughter said to Paula that seeing her mum had really made her laugh and it made her day – she was jealous that her mum had a drink and she didn’t!
The simplest things are the best medicine for a good laugh!
