Remembrance memorial crafts at Loose Valley Care Home

We were very proud of the special memorial display we made at Loose Valley Care Home for the fallen soldiers of war, which featured poppies, Union Jack flags and soldier silhouettes.

On Wednesday 4 November our residents came together to colour in canvas pictures of poppies and scenes, drawn by Recreation and Well-Being Champion Paula, and the poppy cards residents made were put together in a chain and hung above the memorial.

On Wednesday 11 November we are organising a singalong, with a pause at 11am for a two minutes silence.

Keeping in touch online

We have recently had a new Smart TV delivered to our Home which now has access to YouTube.

The daughter of one of our residents runs the ‘Hilton Hall Dance Academy‘, so we were able to find this and view footage of the children dancing, which our resident absolutely loved! She was able to see her granddaughter and grandson, which was very special. We also arranged a WhatsApp video call to her grandson as he had just passed his driving test. She congratulated him and he sent in a picture of himself in his new car. Such precious moments made possible by technology.
