Hawaiian BBQ Summer party at Loose Valley Care Home

On Saturday 26 August residents and family at Loose Valley Care Home were treated to an amazing Hawaiian BBQ party with live entertainment from Kevin Walsh and Barry Barton. The two musicians sang a fantastic selection of summer songs fro everyone to get up and dance too.

The sun was shining and our Tiki bar was decorated with grass skirts, pineapples and flamingos, with plenty of drinks on offer from mocktails to cocktails, ice buckets with beer and wine, non-alcoholic orange and pineapple juices, plus Pimm’s and lemonade.

Our lovely garden, gazebo and conservatory were colourfully decorated to fully immerse our residents, family and friends into an exotic holiday theme. We gave lei flowers to everyone as they entered the party, amidst a backdrop of palm trees, coconuts, inflatable banana and more flamingos!

With some wonderful prizes and gifts made by our very own Paula, we had lots of fun socialising and playing games including ‘Guess the flamingo’s name’ ‘Guess the amount of sweets in the jar’. Paula’s handmade flamingos with feathers were also given out as Hawaiian mementos.

We are delighted that our residents’ family members had such great day with their loved ones, making fond memories to treasure. We really appreciated their generous thanks to our Loose Valley staff team for making a day to remember.
