Loose Valley Care Home residents celebrate Chinese New Year

After our virtual flight out of Gatwick from Loose Valley Care Home, we landed in Hong Kong International airport for Chinese New Year.

As it’s the Year of the Ox, we asked everyone their birthdate and year, and found their zodiac animal (there are 12 in total). We had a Rat, Horse, Monkey, Snake, Pig and a Rooster! We read about each animal and what they say about a person’s character traits.

We hosted a Quiz on China and Chinese facts which was very interesting and we posed for photos with our lovely Chinese parasols and hats.

And to top off the day, our residents tucked in to a selection of Chinese goodies, including prawn spring rolls, chicken on skewers in hoisin sauce and duck spring rolls with a sweet and sour dip. Delicious!

Happy Chinese New Year everyone!
