Loose Valley Care Home residents celebrate Chinese New Year

To celebrate the Chinese New Year at Loose Valley Care Home we transformed our conservatory into a colourful vision of red lanterns, Chinese dragons, Chinese costumes and more!

Many of our residents and staff took part in dressing up for the occasion – we even got Billy cat and Bella bunny selfies in their Chinese hats!

We hosted a Chinese quiz and talked about the country, discussing interesting facts including details about the great wall of China – how long it is and why it was built. We were all fascinated to learn it is an incredible 13,170 miles long and has been used by different dynasties, as it was built for defence. Amazingly you can see the structure from space!

We enjoyed a meal of sweet and sour chicken and rice, along with a platter of prawn toast, mini spring rolls and prawn crackers to dip – delicious!

We had a lot of fun with our trip to China, which is such an interesting country.
