Easter celebrations at Loose Valley Care Home

Celebrations at Loose Valley Care Home such as Easter are incredibly special and poignant to a number of our residents, either for religious reasons or simply for the importance of treasured memories throughout their lives.

Easter colouring

Our local school children started Easter on Thursday 28 March as it was their last day before breaking up for the holidays, so we welcomed pupils from Loose Primary School into our Home to enjoy some Easter colouring with our residents. It’s always amazing to see young and old interacting together and celebrating Easter.

The Easter bunny was on hand (or paw!) all dressed up with his basket of chocolate eggs to hand out to the eight children who were visiting. The rest of the eggs were given to their teacher Mr Hogwood to distribute to his class before breaking up.

Easter Sunday

On Easter Sunday we had a surprise visit from the Easter bunny himself, who paw-delivered individual chocolate Easter eggs to our ladies and gents – they could choose which was their favourite.

The Easter bunny (aka Paula from our Recreation and Well-Being Team!) went around to every room in full outfit to see everyone. Stopping for a rest on one of our sofas!

A couple of our residents had lunch out with their families so the Easter bunny delivered eggs to their room for them to find on their return. Our residents were very impressed and surprised at the Easter bunny’s trolley of Easter eggs and very much enjoyed the truly wonderful Easter experience.

And our cat Billy joined in the fun of course!
