Creative colouring for Chinese New Year at Loose Valley Care Home

As part of our Chinese New Year celebrations here at Loose Valley Care Home, we came together to colour some pretty blossom tree pictures in pinks and reds, on Sunday 11 February.

We chatted about these beautiful cherry trees (also called ‘Sakura‘) that grow naturally in China and in East Asia and how the blossom goes everywhere when it falls.

Our residents enjoyed learning about the country of China, its unique style of writing and how hard the language is to learn and write!

We decorated our conservatory in beautiful Chinese parasols and kimonos and talked about how Chinese New Year uses different signs of animals – 2024 is the Year of the Dragon.
