Sweet treats and Sven at Loose Valley Care Home

Pancake Day

We had a blast this Pancake Day at Loose Valley Care Home when we created a crepe bar in our conservatory for our residents to enjoy after lunch.

Our crepe maker was primed and at the ready! Our ladies and gents chopped fruit up in the morning and mixed up our batter in readiness. We then got to work making fresh warm pancakes for everyone.

There was a delicious choice of toppings to try including bananas, fresh strawberries, marshmallows and maple syrup which went down a treat – though a number of our residents opted for the classic fresh lemon and sugar. Yum!

Visit from Sven

This week we had a gentle giant visit us – Sven the amazing Bernese Mountain Dog.

The date coincided with his 2nd birthday, so two of our residents sang ‘Happy birthday‘ to him which was very sweet.

He took a pew on Doug’s feet for a stroke, after being given a cheeky biscuit and listened beautifully to Ray’s stories of shire horses.

We love seeing you Sven – you’re welcome back anytime!

Muffins galore!

On Tuesday 20 February we made sure we were stocked up on tasty muffins for National Muffin Day – and why not! These were enjoyed with a cup of tea or coffee. What could be better for an afternoon treat?!
