VE Day celebrations
Staff and residents here at Loose Valley Care Home held belated VE Day celebrations last week on Tuesday 28 July. The lovely Miss Holiday Swing came to entertain us – she is a fantastic singer and we love her!
Singing songs from the 1940s, including singalongs and all the favourites of the era, Holly even dresses the part and wears victory curls in her hair. Stunning!
We sipped on tasty drinks, ate little bags of sweets from Union Jack paper bags, and snacked on Union Jack butter iced cakes.
Ethel was getting into the sprit of it all with her mini bottle of wine – just look at her little face all lit up! She wanted to be a sailor like our Recreation and Well-Being Champions Paula and Hayley, so she became their ship mate, “Ahoy, Sailor!”.
Ethel and Paula had a lovely photo together – she is such a star!
