Here at Loose Valley Care Home, we’ve been fortunate enough to be able to have a baby tortoise and watch it hatch.
Our Housekeeper Debbie breeds these wonderful creatures and we welcomed this little one last Sunday. Our residents were in awe and so happy to meet them and handle them.
A couple of fun facts: Tortoises have very small brains and have existed for over 55 million years. There is currently a tortoise who is the longest living land animal at 190 years old!
