Here at Loose Valley Care Home, we embraced a sweet Wimbledon tradition on Monday 30 June with a refreshing strawberries and cream trolley making its way around our Home during the warm summer afternoon.
To set the scene, the trolley was beautifully decorated with a classic picnic basket, tennis balls, rackets, and charming strawberry-themed pictures – bringing the spirit of Centre Court straight to our residents.
As our team member Paula made her way from room to room, and out into the shaded garden gazebo, our residents were served delicious bowls of fresh strawberries, with the option to enjoy them with or without cream – perfect for the hot weather. We also offered a fruity apple-orange and lemonade blended drink that went down an absolute treat!
This simple but meaningful experience brought everyone together in celebration of a much-loved British tradition.
To round off the afternoon, we hosted a fun Wimbledon-themed quiz filled with interesting facts. And, of course, our adorable Billy couldn’t resist joining in – happily sitting in our picnic basket with his mini tennis rackets. He made the perfect honorary ball boy!
