Potting herbs at Loose Valley Care Home

On Wednesday 30 November some of our lovely ladies at Loose Valley Care Home potted up some herb seeds together.

They used spoons to shovel the soil into small black plant pots, made a well and dropped a few seeds in, with a choice of oregano, mint, parsley, basil or chives.

Each of our ladies chose which ones they liked and some potted two types. They then covered the seeds with a smidge more soil and patted it down, making sure to water them in.

Some of the ladies decided they would like them back in their rooms to keep an eye on and tend too, whilst others decided to keep them on the side in our conservatory. We made sure they all have little labels with the resident’s name and what herb it is so they don’t get mixed up.

Let’s see what we can grow!
