Nutrition and Hydration Week at Loose Valley Care Home

It was Nutrition and Hydration Week last week which aims to focus on health, wellbeing and good nutrition in care settings. We enjoyed making the most of the week for our Loose Valley Care Home residents, creating lots of delicious nutritious and hydrating treats alongside our St Patrick’s Day celebrations and cruise to South Africa!

We focused on offering hydrating foods including melon, cucumber, papaya and mango, with different choices of fresh fruit juices every day. Nutrition boosts and tempting snacks included bananas, cheese scones, homemade cakes, jelly, milkshakes and ice cream.

Our week’s tasty calendar:

Baileys cake with cream or custard
Shamrock-shaped shortbread biscuits
Irish latte coffees and Guinness

Tuesday 18 March – American 1950s music afternoon

Wednesday 19 March

Hot choc bar with mini marshmallows

Thursday 20 March – South African cruise

Friday 21 March
