Miss Holiday Swing entertains at Loose Valley Care Home to celebrate VE Day

Our residents at Loose Valley Care Home were taken down memory lane on Thursday 27 May as they reminisced about the war time tunes of their past, in a VE Day celebration.

We decorated our Home and garden with Union Jack flags and bunting and Miss ‘Hollie’ Holiday Swing delighted us from outside with all of our favourite tunes including ‘The Trolley Song‘ from ‘Meet Me in St Louis‘, ‘A-Tisket-A-Tasket‘ by the legendary Ella Fitzgerald and of course, many number one hits by the late Dame Vera Lynne.

Miss Holiday Swing entertained us all brilliantly, as well as Paula from our Recreation and Well-Being Team who decided that the skeleton from our pirate venture was a suitable dance partner!

Our residents cheered out for more as they sang along with the tunes, although felt puffed out after singing along with her for an hour!

What a wonderful way to celebrate VE Day.
