Loose Valley Care Home residents enjoy Nellsar mini cruise to Thailand

Travel, including armchair travel, helps bring joy, purpose and connection through meaningful activities and it’s wonderful to travel the globe, learning about the culture and traditions of each country we virtually visit here at Loose Valley Care Home.

On Thursday 23 January we set sail on our Nellsar mini cruise holiday to beautiful Thailand, with Admiral M Barrett (Nellsar’s Managing Director) at the helm of the HMS Nellsar cruise ship.

Our residents absolutely loved the day! We had a beach backdrop, decorated with elephants and pom-poms and everybody received a colourful handmade felt elephant from team member Paula, with ‘Thailand’ in letters attached to each one as a souvenir of our trip.

We took photos of our residents by the beach and enjoyed our parasols, travel posters, Buddhas and pictures of Thailand on our table mats. Jisna also created a shrine to Buddha with colourful drapes and gifts of flowers at his feet, along with two elephants.

Our intrepid cat Billy had his passport ready and boarded with us, and Bowie the dog joined us too – he was looking forward to a swim, hoping not to see a shark!

We listened to Thai music and enjoyed a quiz and facts about this incredible country.

Thank you for having us, gorgeous Thailand.
