Friends Animal Therapy came to visit us at Loose Valley Care Home on Wednesday 11 December. Michelle and Elish run the company and get such joy at seeing people adore these beautiful animals.
We were introduced to George and Spud. George is a Shetland pony with Dwarfism and he is very special. Spud was a full-sized Shetland. Both had a lovely nature.
These ponies came to visit our residents and spread some Christmas cheer dressed in their reindeer antlers! They came into our reception area and then trotted up the corridor to our conservatory to greet everyone.
They were treated to lots of strokes, pets and even hugs and it was lovely to see them walking around our Home and to all our bedrooms to visit our residents. George even went up in our lift, much to the amusement of our team members and residents!
One of our ladies cried tears of joy at being with these beautiful ponies, and she was able to pet them and chat to Michelle. She was amazed at them coming into her room and was delighted at being so close to them.
