On Friday 9 April, our residents at Loose Valley Care Home were treated to their first evening event in a while – betting at the races in the anticipation of the Grand National taking place the day after.
All our ladies resembled ‘ladies who lunch’ for the Grand National Party, sporting fancy fascinators, drinking sparkling wine and eating scones with jam and cream! What fun!
However, when it came to the table top racing game, all of them were very competitive, wanting to be the first to cross the finish line!
The evening was rounded off with a bet on The Grand National race itself, in the form of a sweepstake.
We all had so much fun, including Billy our cat, who decided to fall asleep on our racetrack!!
