Loose Valley Care Home residents create beach-themed arts and crafts

In preparation for our upcoming beach party on Saturday 16 August, our residents at Loose Valley Care Home have been getting creative with a series of vibrant beach-themed arts and crafts sessions. They have been busy making colourful backdrops featuring beach huts, lifebuoy rings, and cheerful seaside scenes using cut-out seahorses, fish, starfish, and more.

Lilian created two sparkling seahorses, adding stick-on jewels for their eyes, which gave a wonderful effect. Grace opted for graceful dolphins in her scene, while Doreen added jewels to the golden sand and arranged a lively underwater display of fish and sea creatures on the ocean blue.

Meanwhile, our beach hut decorations were beautifully painted by Doreen, with help from our Activities Team, and residents Grace, Glenis, and Joy. The group also painted a series of striking lifebuoy rings in red and white, and blue and white.

It was a pleasantly warm day, so we took advantage of the lovely weather and brought some of our painting activities outdoors – giving our beach huts their bold colours under the sunshine. We’re all keeping our fingers crossed for more sunny skies when we celebrate with our ‘I Do Like to Be Beside the Seaside’ BBQ for our residents and their families.

We can’t wait to see all these wonderful decorations come together for a memorable summer celebration!
