On Tuesday 3 September we transformed our conservatory into a homage to the Wild West here at Loose Valley Care Home!
To get us all in the mood, we had some fantastic live music from mother and daughter duo, Caz and Ellie, who sang a selection of Country music classics, from Patsy Cline and Dolly Parton to Elvis, The Carpenters and more.
Paula from our Recreation and Well-Being Team made our brilliant props and a wanted poster for our ‘Billy the Cat’ – our jail cell was back, complete with a cactus, wagon, horses and lots of horseshoes. Our resident Doug was the Sheriff of Loose Valley village – we appointed him in this post for the day and he was very happy to accept!
We also held a Cowboy Quiz and enjoyed some interesting Wild West facts, guessing the famous cowboys, Westerns, Country songs and listening to stories about native Indian tribes.
The afternoon was filled with laughter and even some line dancing – such a brilliant time with our residents and team members joining together to enjoy the atmosphere and great live music.
Country and Western is such classic theme to enjoy – YEE-HAW!!
