Loose Valley Care Home Easter celebrations

We enjoyed a lovely Easter Sunday here Loose Valley Care Home. Some of our residents had visits from family and the Easter Bunny also made an appearance (our Recreation and Well-Being Manager, Viv) – much to everyone’s surprise!

After listening to a morning Easter Church service on BBC1 where we listened to a message from the Pope, our ladies and gents sipped cuppas and ate Cadburys Creme Eggs! You’re never too old for chocolate!

And lunch was a delicious meal of roast beef, followed by a dessert of a toffee orange spongecake with mini eggs. At 3pm for afternoon tea, our residents enjoyed a slice of traditional Simnel cake – an Easter fruit cake with marzipan.

As always, our Recreation and Well-Being Champion Paula made all the decorations of chicks, hens, and rabbits, for the tables. Each resident was given a pom pom rabbit with a bow for their place setting. which was set with homemade Easter placemats and napkins! We also created Easter cards and pictures and wore our rabbit ears with pride.

After lunch we had lots of fun playing an Easter hoopla games with blow up bunnies – players had to aim the hoops around the rabbits upright ears.

Every resident received a chocolate Easter egg from our very own Easter bunny (Paula!) on behalf of Loose Valley, and everyone was delighted. And of course Bella bunny and Billy cat were involved with the celebrations and got dressed up.

We made sure no one missed out on the seasonal fun!
