Loose Valley Care Home Cruise arrives in Mumbai

Lots of fun was had at Loose Valley Care Home as we arrived at the port of Mumbai, India on our Around the World Nellsar Cruise.

We sampled the culture, the vibrant colours, the gorgeous Sarees and Dupattas, and even watched traditional Bollywood dancing. We also enjoyed a quiz about India and facts about the different cultures, religions and language.

Snakes and ladders originated in India, so we had a game in the afternoon with our giant floor board and dice.

We enjoyed Indian music which had lots of beats to dance to and we joined in with hand and arm movements.

Our Carer Kumud kindly brought in some Indian fabrics for our residents to see. Kumud had a handmade bedspread from India and showed everyone the intricate design work on it. She also brought in her dolls in traditional Indian dress.

We also had some fantastic decorations including our beautiful Rangoli pattern on canvas. Bibi our Receptionist’s mum made it for us; it is so eye-catching and everyone loves the beautiful colours and how it was made with sand and glue.

And of course, the day wouldn’t be complete without some delicious Indian food, which our residents loved sampling; samosas, bhajis, nana breads and papadums went down a treat!

Everyone just loved the day and we’ve had so much positive feedback from our residents saying how much they enjoyed themselves.

Postcards were sent to our residents’ families via WhatsApp, and we’ve had lots of lovely replies saying how much they appreciated them and how it was super seeing their loved ones enjoying their travels around the world.
