Loose Valley Care Home celebrates Olympic gardeners

Our residents at Loose Valley Care Home have been growing some wonderful flowers and vegetables in our garden, as part of Nellsar’s Olympic Garden Competition.

They’ve been very busy with our Garden Olympic Club building and greenhouse, and working together to add colour and life to our patio area.

From seeds and seedlings they have been growing, repotting and sharing knowledge and advice with one another.

After an absolutely amazing effort, individual plants, flowers and vegetables were chosen and the residents who planted them received personalised Olympic Garden certificates, prizes and medals.

Well done to all our amazing gardeners!

After the competition judging process, Recreation and Well-Being Manager Viv said:

“A grand entry and well done to Loose Valley as runners up! The residents at Loose Valley chose to do something slightly different and created an Olympic gardening club! They have been growing flowers and vegetables from seedlings, sharing their knowledge, and giving advice to each other. After an amazing effort, the winning plants and vegetables were picked, and everyone received an Olympic medal.”
