At Loose Valley Care Home we celebrated Halloween in true spooky style on Thursday 30 October, when our conservatory was transformed with light-hearted decorations – bats, witches, potion bottles, spiders and black cats.
Our afternoon featured live entertainment from the wonderful Ricky Boxall, who brought a fantastic atmosphere with his lively singalong performance. Our residents (and cat Billy!) got into the Halloween spirit by donning witches’ hats, enjoying the fun atmosphere without anything too spooky.
Our themed mocktail juice bar was a big hit, offering fruity creations such as Vampire Kiss and Poisoned Apple, made from cherry, apple, elderflower, red grape and cranberry juices.
After the music, everyone gathered for a witches’ tea party, complete with tiered cake stands of sweet treats and a choice of mocktails to enjoy. It was a lovely social afternoon and to add a touch of learning to the festivities, we shared stories about the origins of Halloween, tracing its roots back to Celtic traditions in Ireland.
What a happy Halloween!
