We all had a great time on our Country and Western Day at Loose Valley Care Home on Monday 3 October when singer Jasmine arrived with her cowboy outfit and America flag backdrop.
We filled our conservatory with props including mini horses; Paula from our Recreation and Well-Being Team made them saddles and bridles for the show and our residents posed with the white horse who we named ‘Silver‘ after Roy Rogers’ horse.
Country music is a wonderful choice and we all sang along to Dolly Parton, Glen Campbell, Johnny Cash, Kenny Rogers, Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette and Billy Ray Cyrus, to name a few! Everyone enjoyed joining in with the well known songs and our very own Doug took a turn on the mic to sing ‘Rhinestone Cowboy‘.
Jasmine always gets everyone involved with her show and props. We had an Indian headdress and cowboy hats and several residents had a photoshoot, posing as cowboys and Indians.
June had fun playing an Indian and Evelyn wore a cowboy hat and held a prop gun – they laughed and had so much fun pretending!
Billy the Kid or should we say ‘Billy the Cat‘ was a wanted boy, but Paula the Sheriff of Loose County managed to capture him evetually!
Yee haw!
