Christmas carols and chocolate at Loose Valley Care Home

On Monday 20 December at Loose Valley Care Home, we got a jolly group together to sing Christmas carols. We had some Christmas themed jokes too…Here is a few of them:

Why did Santa have to go to hospital?
“Because of his poor Elf”

What do you get if you cross a snowman and a vampire?
“Frostbite”

Why did no one bid for Rudolph or Blitzen on ebay?
“Because they were too dear” – two deer get it!?

What is the best Christmas present?
“A broken drum – you cant beat it!”

The residents were laughing so much especially with What do you get if you cross Santa with a duck?
“A Christmas quacker!”

With our carols we sang “We wish you a merry Christmas”, “Hark the Herald Angels Sing”, “Silent Night”, “Away in a Manger” and “Deck the Halls”. We all really liked the “fa la la la la la” bit. Some of us might have been a bit out of tune but we had a good go and a giggle!

Along with our festivities we enjoyed hot chocolate with squirty cream and chocolate flakes (yummy!), panettone, stollen bread, mince pies and gluten free options as well.

Every year, the lovely Leah and Lynsey organise a Giving Tree at Loose Sainsbury’s and we were delighted to receive so many gifts!

People from Loose popping into the store can take a tag and buy that resident a present up to the value of £10. We have a present for each of our residents!

We also have a box of chocolates for each resident to enjoy – they enjoyed picking what they wanted from the goodies!
