Celebrating World Chocolate Day at Loose Valley Care Home

On Monday 7 July we celebrated World Chocolate Day here at Loose Valley Care Home with lots of smiles! It was a lovely afternoon where we came together to enjoy some delicious treats, share memories, and chat about all things chocolate.

To mark the indulgent day, our team put together a beautifully decorated chocolate trolley, complete with colourful displays and an irresistible selection of sweet treats. The trolley made its way around our Home, spreading happiness as it offered residents the chance to sample a wonderful variety of chocolates. Tasty treats on offer included:

  • Chocolate with honeycomb bites
  • Raspberry ripple buttons
  • Neapolitan buttons
  • Aero with strawberry and milk chocolate
  • Milkybar stars
  • Mini Mars and Twix bars
  • And of course, the ever-popular Freddo bars!

In addition to tasting, we enjoyed a chocolate-themed quiz, filled with fun facts about the origins of chocolate, including how Aztec women were forbidden from tasting it! There was also plenty of chatter about the health benefits of chocolate, the different types available today, and a nostalgic look back at discontinued favourites from years gone by.

It was a truly delicious day at Loose Valley, thoroughly enjoyed by all – and one that reminded us just how sweet life can be!
