Bubble wrap painting at Loose Valley Care Home

On Thursday 22 August we enjoyed a sensory activity with our Loose Valley Care Home residents, printing flowers with bubblewrap onto black paper.

We set out some bubblewrap, plates with different colours of paint to dip into and paint brushes. We applied paint onto the raised surface of the bubbles and pressed it down – it was such a fun moment to see the big reveal and how the print turned out when we lifted up the wrap from the paper.

The flowers we created looked like hydrangeas and the black paper background really showed off the colours of the petals.

To finish our pictures, we painted on leaves, stalks and sprinkled on silver glitter to make them sparkle. We also added some yellow and black bumblebees, birds and butterflies. Beautiful!

We are looking forward to ‘Art in Care Homes Day‘ in September, so will keep our lovely paintings ready to display then.
