Our Loose Valley Care Home resident June turned 93 years young on Sunday 4 June.
She received a wonderful selection of cards to open and was very excited and happy about her special day, with presents including chocolates, a tiger balloon and a parcel from her great grandchildren which contained a beautiful personalised extra large photo card from them, accompanied by a box of galaxy truffles.
We put up birthday banners, balloons and decorations in her room and our Cook Elaine made her a lovely birthday cake, decorated with flowers.
During the day she had a visit from her grandson Dominic and great-grandson Harry which she thoroughly enjoyed. Her son Paul and daughter-in-law Jen were in France on a break, so took time out to video called her from their hotel in the afternoon. We sent them lots of photos throughout the day to make them feel included in the fun, which they were very pleased to see. They also sent through pictures of the beautiful French scenery for June to enjoy.
Everyone wished June a very happy birthday and sang to her at the dining table after lunch. We put all her cards up on her shelf and she said she’d had a super day.
