At Loose Valley Care Home, we recently took a virtual getaway to Spain – the vibrant home of flamenco dancers, stunning architecture, golden beaches and breathtaking scenery. Bringing a Spanish flavour to our activities, our residents and team members put on their creative hats to make eye-catching flamenco dancer collages using black card and bright red glitter. These beautiful creations became part of our display and the perfect backdrop for our sangria bar trolley.
The day was filled with Spanish music and lively conversation. Our residents joined in with themed quizzes, learnt a few Spanish phrases and shared their own memories of holidays spent in Spain. Lunch brought some authentic flavours, with a delicious Spanish chicken and chorizo dish in a rich tomato and olive sauce.
Our afternoon provided a cheerful escape from the rainy UK weather, complete with a tempting tapas spread featuring olives, feta cheese, chorizo and cold meats – all perfectly paired with a glass (or two!) of sangria.
Adding to the fun, our much-loved Home cat Billy couldn’t resist joining in our adventure. He picked up his passport and travelled alongside our residents and team members, Paula and Hayley.
What a day full of colour and fun – all from the comfort of Loose Valley.
