A spooktacular time at Loose Valley Care Home

We had a spooktacular time celebrating Halloween on Thursday 31 October here at Loose Valley Care Home.

Our residents and team members had a spooky time painting pumpkins together and shared lots of Halloween jokes, with plenty of laughs. Paula and Jisna from our Recreation and Well-Being Team dressed up as witches and our residents – being our trainee witches and wizards – wore witches hats and had fun posing with props.

And we had to ‘Beware of freaky things ahead’ as our Home cat Billy and Bowie our Pet Therapy dog both dressed up as mini draculasthey looked fa-boo-lous!!

For our afternoon Halloween tea party we served some spooky desserts:

  • Witches fingers (sponge with raisins and icing for the nails)
  • Eyeballs (mini donuts with cream cheese, blueberry and red icing)
  • False teeth (chocolate chip cookies, cream cheese and mini marshmallows)

And our Dracula drinks bar was all set with ghoulish juices:

  • Vampire Kiss – cherry juice and lemonade.
  • Poisoned Apple – apple and elderflower juice with lemonade.
  • Scary Marys Brew – blood orange and cranberry juice.
  • Zombie Juice – limeade and sprig of fresh mint.

We had great fun with themed activities and spooky music such as ‘Thriller‘ during the day, and Paula and Jisna provided the dancing! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves – Spooky Valley was definitely the place to be!
